Once you’ve bought your dream property here in Valencia, what better way to explore the Valencian countryside than riding your very own vintage motorbike. I would like to introduce you to Dan Horrell, an Englishman living in Valencia who is an importer of vintage motorbikes and huge fanatic.
Here is a quick interview with Dan outlining his passion for his Vespas in Valencia and his life here in Spain:
What gave you the idea to start your business?
‘We established Vespa Classics For Sale UK in 2013 when myself and another friend, a Spanish guy called Naglis met at a scooter rally in Valencia, Spain and between us saw an opportunity for a professional company to be the main suppliers of vintage European scooters to the U.K. and Europe.
Our objective is to bring to our customers the Vespa or classic motorcycle they like the most by sourcing them from our list of suppliers. We only sell quality scooters at a price that can’t be beaten anywhere else. Customer satisfaction is our main aim! Since opening back in 2013, the business has gone from strength to strength and we are now shipping monthly to Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and the U.K.’
Do you own your own vintage motorbike?
‘I own many Vespas, but my favourite is my 1974 Vespa 160GT “Goldfinger”! I found this one sitting in a little bar in Barcelona, where it was being used as an ornament/ash tray! Having spent months restoring the motor, but keeping the original paint, it has now become my daily ride.’

‘I’ve bought a few scooters from Dan. Everything is straightforward and honest with clear communication from first pics to delivery. Dan is passionate about scooters which shows through in the scooters that he sources. He knows the difference between something that’s half decent and something that’s a bit special and sets his prices accordingly.’

‘Bought a New Speedo for my T5 from Dan. Absolute Legend. I was a bit dubious about ordering rare Italian/Spanish parts directly from Spain. As it turns a out. Nothing to worry about. It arrived well packaged and exactly when expected. Very happy. Will definitely order some more part from them. Highly Recommended!’

‘Just bought a scooter off Dan and it was a 1st class service from start to finish. Keeps you informed on delivery at every step and is very trustworthy. I will definitely buy another off him in the future.’
‘It’s perfect! We live in a little village called Montserrat, about 25 minutes inland from the city and the beaches. It’s a perfect location between the mountains and the sea. The airport is only 20 minutes away, the infrastructure is great. We have the perfect mix of village life, yet can be in Valencia city in 20 minutes.
The beaches around Valencia are spectacular, and that’s where you will find me and my family most weekends. Valencia city has everything anyone needs, from Ikea and Primark for the wife, to some brilliant parks for the kids. The roads are perfect for driving and there are plenty of touristic routes that me and my group of scooter enthusiasts venture out on once a week to explore new places.’
